Why We Need Community

  • Unitarian Universalist Church of Bowling Green 2033 Nashville Road Bowling Green, KY, 42101 United States (map)

This service is designed in a contemplative format: it is a quiet and deep experience of music, readings, meditation and reflection. We take as our theme Thich Nhat Hanh’s thoughts on the importance of sangha, or community, from his 2007 book Teachings on Love. This seminal work by the respected Buddhist monk and teacher makes a case for community as vital to our human and spiritual development. His message invites us to reflect on our own lives, our inter-being with the world, and the ways we can practice community.
